Production Log 11

In week 11 we went out to start filming our music video. We tried out different locations in central London such as famous enough landmarks like the Big Ben and London eye as well as iconic places like southbank and libraries where normal, working class people go and spend their time. We thought these where good locations to film as a lot of young and Middle aged people can be spotted in these areas and so we thought these were locations that many people could relate to.

We also tried to film from different angles to get a verity of facial expressions from close ups to extreme long shots of me and Josh so that our outfits and body language can be seen. While filming if we saw anything interesting that could be used in the digipack we took pictures of them. Even if we wasn't going to use them they were worth having. Due to  lack of synergy we decided not to use the images we took for the digipack leaving us with a lot of work to do.

Production Log: 10

In order to finish both our ancillary products being the magazine cover and digi-pack we had to make a start. This week Sam and I made sure to take all the images needed for the magazine cover. We took a verity pictures of Chris (Lij Gilmour), Josh (The other guy) and Myself (Chris' best friend) this was so we can develop our main idea of telling a heart break story of Lij Gilmour thought out our ancillary products in order to enhance consumer demand.

We also took pictures of only our main artist Chris who plays (Lij Gilmour )in various angles and face expressions in order to have images to pick from when deciding on our magazine cover. In the moment of shooting we thought that we are advertising Lij Gilmour and not the other two and throught it would be a good idea to take individual images of Lij just in case out main idea didn't work.

As I practiced in advanced some photoshopping, the editing of the images wasn't so bad. Through this I did learn a lot such as
-how to layer differen images on top of each other such as cutting the backgroud of Chris and adding the selfie collage of myself for the back ground.
-how to rotate images
-create filters on them
- as well as adding text and working with different colours to make it synergetic with the artist himself being Chris.

Production Log 8

I benefited from going to the first half of the BFI presentation trip as they showed us exemplars of what the highest grade media students get. We discussed what made the music videos get the highest graces by analysing their strengths and weaknesses. This made me think about our ideas and to see if they were suitable for our music video.

I got a lot of information on things that I didn't know but also a recap on things such as using a small amount of locations when filming the music video. In addition, the timing of the shots used within the music videos likewise the colour platte of the music video depending on the genre the song is. For example, we are doing a happy up lifting spent and therefor need to use bright colours to portray this in our music video. We could use the costumes to also show its a live song.

Production Log 9

In week nine during my spare time I took time off to practise my skills on photoshop. I edited some google images that looked similar to what we had in mind. This helped both sam and myself get an idea of what we wanted for our final product. Having done this I did make mistakes when editing images and getting the colours I want. However, this did not matter as it wasn't the final product and still had time to get suitable images and learn from my mistakes.

Sam and I also made sure to complete all paper work. We done this so that we had all holidays to film as paper work wouldn't be getting in the way of making our music video. Having paper work such as production schedule and call sheets done before had helped us keep track of when, why, where and who will be taking part in our recordings. When talking about who would be involved we had to think about cast and who would be the main face of our ancillary products.we made sure to do this before anything as without a cast nothing can actually happen.

To help my team be more organised I crated a group chat on what's app which everyone in the group was involved in. This not only helped us keep track of our meetings, were but also was there for a reminder of when to meet our deadlines so we finish our production on time in order to start post production.
